While the rest of the country is deciding how Brexit will impact the UK’s future, we just want to know whether to “Leave” or “Stay” in Europe for our next holiday!
The world is so full of fantastic holiday destinations, but do we go somewhere beautiful and European during our next break, or do we visit somewhere far flung and exotic?
We put it to you, the general public, to choose! To help you make the decision, let’s look at a few of the fantastic options.
Stay – Canary Islands
The Canary Islands are always a tempting European holiday destination. Lanzarote, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Fuerteventura have some of the most pristine beaches and most exciting volcanic landscapes in the world, and are perfect for both relaxing and partying.
Leave – Cuba
Cuba is an exciting island in the northern Caribbean, and has been called a “living museum” due to its countless old American cars, nostalgic clothing styles, and electronics that are no longer used across the rest of the world. Enjoy the beaches, the rum, and the famously good cigars, plus a culture filled with lively music and beautiful landscapes.
Stay – Balearics
Back in Europe, the Balearics comprise of four main islands: Majorca, Ibiza, Menorca, and Formentera. Head to these blissful getaways for their 300 days of sun, their eclectic party nights, their dreamy beaches, and their stunning scenery.
Leave – Mexico
Mexico’s exotic appeal lies in its warm people, delicious food, idyllic beaches, and fascinating history. It’s a country with some of the most breathtaking mountainous scenery in the world, but it’s in the towns and cities that you’ll find the “true” Mexico: traditional live music, wholesome cooking, and an always-friendly welcome.
Stay – Greek Islands
Greece and her islands make for winning holiday destinations reached via just a short 3-hour flight. Come for the culture, stay for the olive oil-drenched food, the fantasy coastline, and the budget-friendly prices.
Leave – Caribbean
The Caribbean has a reputation as a paradise on Earth, and with the swaying palm trees that line the tranquil beaches and the dreamlike chill that fills each island, who is arguing? Get St Lucia, Varadero, the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, or one of the many other islands onto your bucket list, because the Caribbean is an unforgettable holiday destination.
Stay – Portugal
300+ days of annual sunshine … whale watching … sweet beverages … a fairytale castle in Sintra … Portugal offers so much. If you’ve never visited this unique little country, perhaps you should ask yourself why. The daylight is brighter than most other European countries and the cuisine more wholesome, making Portugal the perfect place to help ebb your stresses away.
Leave – USA
Home to the world’s most popular theme parks plus food portion sizes to blow your mind, the USA is a place of iconic landmarks and perfect hospitality. The biggest decision you’ll make is not WHETHER you should go, but simply where: New York or Hawaii? Orlando or Chicago? New Orleans or Las Vegas? The best part is that there isn’t a wrong answer!
Stay – Malta
The island of Malta is a gorgeous, ancient place surrounded by turquoise waters and peppered with historic structures and ruins. It’s a destination for visitors looking for tranquillity and a gentle pace to their holiday, where snorkelling and sightseeing are perfect daytime activities. Spend an evening eating Maltese cuisine while watching the sun set across the sea.
Leave – Dubai
Dubai city breaks are unique in that they offer both glimpses of history as well as cutting-edge architecture and technology. The futuristic skyline is bordered by the Arabian Desert, where you can take safaris across the dunes in a 4×4. In Dubai, sunny weather is almost guaranteed but once the sun goes down, the nightlife brightens up the streets instead.
